Rui Hachimura Under 11.5 Pts (-105 DK)

Hachimura has struggled to get going offensively and is not really being used much on that end of the court. Since February 1st, he has averaged an 18% usage rate, but in the first two games of the playoffs, he’s had a 9% and 10% usage rate which has turned into 4 and 7 field goal attempts. In games with 8 or fewer field goal attempts while playing 30+ minutes, he’s gone under this prop in 6 of 7 games now. Lakers were one of the best teams during the regular season scoring in the restricted area with a high of 72% field goal percentage, good for best in the NBA. Through the first two games of the playoffs the Nuggets have held them to 58%, which is good for 7th worst in the playoffs. Denver was holding teams to the 5th worst percentage during the regular season at 64%. 43% of Hachimura’s points come inside the restricted area this season and so far in the playoffs, that is where 36% of his attempts have come from. The Lakers have struggled pushing the pace and 21% of Hachimura’s points have come from transition plays during the regular season. The playoffs go at a much slower pace so relying on transition and fastbreak opportunities is difficult. To show the drastic change in pace between regular season and playoffs, The Cavaliers are playing at the fastest pace so far at 95 possessions, while the leader of pace in the regular season was the Wizards at 103. A pace of 95 in the regular season would be dead last. He has been doing a lot of corner camping, but the Nuggets have been good all season at closeouts, so getting good threes off are typically difficult.

(Since Play-in Game)

Kelly Oubre Under 9.5 Pts (-102 DK)

Oubre has struggled to score and is getting matched up with DiVincenzo, Hart and Anunoby who have forced him to shoot 3 of 8 when matched up in 17 matchup minutes and 84 partial possessions. He’s only had 14% usage in both games and the play-in game, as the obvious guys of Embiid and Maxey are dominating the usage. They are badly needed to have a chance in this series. His scoring relies heavily on transition scoring, but these were the two of the slowest teams in the regular season and in the postseason so far, they are both dead last in pace through two games. In games with 18% usage rate or less, he’s failed to go over this prop in 12 of 17 this season. he’s a 32% three-point shooter on the season on almost five attempts per game, but so far in the playoffs he is taking 1 attempt per game. almost 80% of his attempts are within 10 feet as he relies on drives whether in transition or off screens. The problem is the Knicks defense is focused on protecting the paint, especially because they rather have Embiid shoot threes. He has not been much of a factor and in Game 2 he lost minutes to Batum, who they wanted to close the game. That is important to note considering Oubre closed in Game 1. They need Batum to continue to get minutes, especially for defense on Brunson. He went from 39 minutes to just 26 minutes. With the potential of Melton coming back tonight, his minutes may continue to decrease even more if Melton ends up being active even with a restriction.
