John Tavares is on a steady course to reach his 1000th game milestone, with a Shots On Goal line of 2.5.

As the 2023 NHL season enters its second half, John Tavares is in a strong position to make his mark. The veteran center is set to reach his 1000th game milestone, and has a Shots On Goal line of 2.5 which should make it attainable.

Tavares has been a key presence in the NHL since his arrival in 2009, and his numbers reflect his prowess. He has scored more than 25 shots on goal in eight of his last nine full seasons, and has averaged 3.18 shots on goal per game in his career overall. This season, Tavares has taken 163 shots on goal, hitting at least 25 shots on goal in every month so far.

The veteran has also demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout his career, rarely dipping below 20 shots on goal in a season. The only exception was the 2012-2013 season, which was a shortened season due to the lockout. This consistency makes the Shots On Goal line for his 1000th game all the more achievable.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, Tavares' current team, have also been on an impressive streak lately, winning four out of their last eight games. Their offense has been firing on all cylinders, and Tavares has been an integral part of that success. He has earned nine points in seven of the last nine games, and has been consistently taking shots on goal, with 26 shots on goal in his last five games.

Given his impressive and consistent history of shots on goal, John Tavares appears to be in a strong position to hit the milestone. With a Shots On Goal line set for his 1000th game, and the Toronto Maple Leafs offense in top form, it is likely that Tavares will reach the mark.
