Pick 3: D. DeRozan o23.5 ( -113)
Secured this at Barstool, but it's relatively widely available. With Giannis listed as probable, many books dropped to around the same -113 range when they originally longer, around -140.
Regardless of the status of Giannis, DeMar DeRozan LOVES playing against the Bucks. Don't ask me why, but he does. Since the beginning of the 2019-20 season DeRozan's OVERALL average PPG is 23.6. In that same time time period, Derozan has played against Milwaukee 10 times. His average PPG vs Milwaukee since the 2019-20 season is 29.9, over 6 PPG higher than his average!
It's interesting, because the Bucks have been a top tier Defensive team for the majority of that time, yet Derozan plays significantly better against them than he does against the rest of the league. Again, I don't believe it's a matchup factor, as he's been matched up with various Bucks player over those years and has performed consistently across each of the 10 matchups. He's missed this 23.5 point line just 3 times in the previous 10 matchups, the misses were 21 points, 22 points, and 23 points. So, even the misses were damn close to hitting, which is an obvious plus for us as bettors.
Still, you may be thinking that age could be creeping up on the mid-range King. But don't worry, it's not. Earlier this year Derozan absolutely demolished Milwaukee putting up 42 points (!!!) vs Milwaukee and logging 10 rebounds on 12/28. A month prior to that showing, he put up 36 points against the Bucks. Overall, in the last one full calendar year, he's played the Bucks three times (including a game one year ago exactly on 4/5). In these past 3 games, against effectively the exact same Bucks team he will face tonight, he has averaged an ABSURD 39.3 PPG. 39!
He is actually also averaging 24.9 points on the entire season this year, which is a bit higher than his overall average since 2019-2020. So, I'd say that age is definitely not a factor for the man.
This is my favorite play of the day, and I'm going to be laddering this up to 35+ on FanDuel, which currently is offering +800 for Derozan. Especially considering Derozan is coming off a relatively mild performance vs ATL last night, in a disappointing game overall for the Bulls.
I can almost guarantee that tonight is being treated as a must-win for the Bulls. And after last night's performance, I'd be surprised if DeRozan didn't step up this game and take things into his own hands to try to secure a win vs MIL tonight.
