Pick #6: Roansy Contreras(PIT) over 1.5 walks(-195)
Sorry for getting picks up late today. I didn't have time to post before work started. The lines look like they have moved a little since I placed my bets this morning but, hopefully you can find this one before first pitch.
Contreras has been over this line in three of four starts this year, walking 1, 4, 3, and 2 opposing batters. Those numbers aren't outstanding but, he's on the mound tonight against the most walked team in the league, the Dodgers. LAD has averaged 4.63 walks/game this season. The Mets and Orioles are the only other clubs over 4/game at 4.21 and 4.04, respectively. But, both the Mets and Os have been sliding. They are only averaging 1.0 and 0.67 BB in their L3. Not the Dodgers. They are steady, with an even 4.00 last night and in their L3. They continue to put men on base without having to hit. To help, they average almost an extra half walk/game when they are on the road compared to at home. If you just look at the away numbers, they average 4.83/game.
While I'm writing this, it looks like the line has moved to 2.5 on most books but, the Pine Bot still has it at 1.5 and likes it there. My hope is that it's still out there somewhere at 1.5 or maybe swings back to that before first pitch. Either way, I'm locked in. If you see this line at 1.5, you should too.
