Tonight we are rolling with Keider Montero under 3.5 K's -120 against the San Diego Padres.
Montero on the season is rocking a 19% K rate and has really struggled at limiting teams. He has a 5.05 Expected ERA and is in the bottom 10% of XWOBA and XBA. Montero has really struggled to strike out hitters on the road, rocking only an 18% K rate and rocking over a 5.7 FIP. The Padres are 3rd in baseball with a 19% K rate against righties at home, and have really turned it on as of late. Montero only has 2 pitches over 20% Whiff rate, with one of them being a changeup he exclusively throws to lefties. Lastly, we have yet to see Montero reach 90 pitches since the 26th of July. He is also coming off back to back outings against mediocre teams in the Angels and White Sox, this is a big step up, and he only had 9 K's in 10 innings in those starts.
