As the season began, most people assumed that Giannis Antetokounmpo or Luka Doncic would claim the MVP crown. For dumb reason, very few of us considered Stephen Curry an actual option for the league's Most Valuable Player.

Oh, how wrong we were.

The season is still quite young but Curry is far and away the favorite to win MVP at this moment. He's been putting up a wild 28.4 points a game, along with 6.3 rebounds and 6.4 assists. And he's been an incredible 40% from the three-point line.

When looking at the last few seasons, you see that Curry is trending in the right direction.

Curry has always been a threat from beyond the arch but the latest data suggests that he is just getting better and better with his threes. If that's the case then the rest of the NBA is about to experience a whole lot of trouble. He is shooting from deep about as well as he did back in 2016 and 2017, with plenty more of the season to perfect his shot.

There is a good chance that Stephen Curry is only going to get better as the season goes on. If that's the case then the race for MVP is pretty much over.

And, hell, the race for the Larry O'Brien Trophy might be over too.
