Hello and welcome to the another edition of what I am calling Down the Stream! The purpose of this series is to help those streaming the less important fantasy positions (Defense, Kicker, Tight End etc.) find the perfect matchups/pickups on a week to week basis.

Welcome to the championship week, where big money is won and lost. If your team is still kicking, congrats! For those who weren't so lucky, better luck next year and may I suggest utilizing the Pine Sports explore tool when draft season comes around. Let's get into it!

Indianapolis D/ST vs Las Vegas (Past Month: 17.5 Points Allowed Per Game, 2.25 Turnovers Per Game, 2 Sacks Per Game, 56% owned)

Can you believe that the 8th highest scoring fantasy defense is only owned in 56% of leagues? While the play (and as of now playing status) of Carson Wentz has been slightly inconsistent, this defensive unit has been rock solid as Indianapolis makes a playoff push. They’ve only gotten better as they have gotten multiple turnovers in 4 of the past 5 games and also held teams like Buffalo, Arizona, and New England to below 20 points. I would also like to point out that the impressive Arizona win came without Darius Leonard who will likely be coming off Covid Protocol this week. When it comes to Las Vegas, this is an offensive unit that has failed to put up 20+ since Thanksgiving. QB Derek Carr has turned the ball over twice per game over the past three weeks. That doesn’t even account for any of the other turnovers committed by the Raiders offense, that’s just one player. Oh by the way, their O-line isn’t good either. Here’s the top five most sacked AFC QB’s in the past month.

Chicago D/ST vs NY Giants (Past Month: 23.8 Points Allowed Per Game, .6 Turnovers Per Game, 3 Sacks Per Game, 17% Owned)

We’ve talked a lot about Chicago in this weekly column but mostly as an offensive laughingstock. However, it’s time to flip the script for this Bears team. Daniel Jones is out for the season, leaving this Giants offense in the hands of perennial backup Mike Glennon and extremely raw prospect Jake Fromm. With this band of misfits, they are 0-4 and averaging 11 points a game. They have combined to throw 7 interceptions in that span as well, and star RB Saquon Barkley has failed to pass the 75 yard mark once. Meanwhile, in this mess of a season for Chicago, there has been one bright spot; the pass rush. They are 6th in total sacks this season and it should be no different against New York. With no Danny Dimes, this Giants offense is lost and just plain awful.

Cleveland D/ST vs Pittsburgh (Past Month: 16 Points Allowed Per Game, 2.5 Turnovers Per Game, 2 Sacks Per Game, 40% Owned)

The 2021 AFC North is one of the closest divisions in NFL history. Every team has a shot at winning the divisional crown with two weeks left, making this Monday night matchup crucial to both teams. But, this isn’t an ESPN hype article, this is fantasy analysis. The Browns are a top 12 fantasy defense since week 11 and also are top 12 in season total sacks. Big Ben has looked absolutely washed and has only hit the 300 yard mark once this season. The Steelers offense has been bottom 10 scoring wise and continues to grapple with the loss of breakout TE Pat Friermuth. The wheels may have finally fallen off in an embarrassing performance against Kansas City that saw them only put up ten points. It’s a riskier play than the other teams above but Cleveland remains a solid chance for the fantasy championship.
