Welcome back to The Dog Pound! Tonight, we used the Player Prop Projection and the Prediction AI Model Tool to see how the underdogs, Orlando Magic, would hold out against the Milwaukee Bucks. If you missed the game, the Bucks dominated all four quarters, making it a tough night for our beloved underdogs.

First things first, let’s go through the quarters. Looking at the points from each quarter of both teams’ games this season, we see that while the Magic does not perform that great in the first three quarters, the final quarter is where they catch up in points.

In tonight’s game, they switched it up a bit. The team ended with 24 points in the first quarter, only 21 points in the second, and 28 in the fourth. Their highest-scoring quarter: the third with a whopping 37 points. A necessary comeback after ending the first half down by 17. Unfortunately, the high-scoring third quarter did not help the Magic enough to win.

Honestly, I thought the Magic had the Bucks about halfway through the third quarter. After performing so poorly in the second, their determination in the third had me betting on their redemption. But, as history repeats itself, it was yet another loss for the underdogs tonight. The Bucks simply had the Magic in the end, with a final score of 127 to 110.

Let’s look at one of the Magic’s best players, Franz Wagner. I have to say, after all the talk and fame Wagner earned this season, I was looking forward to watching him play tonight. Wagner was the lead scorer tonight and pretty much dominated the scoreboard. He scored 38 points; we had a prop line of 17.5 and favored the over.

Next, looking at our block predictions, we favored the under with the prop line at 0.5. Fortunately for Wagner, but unfortunately for our prop projections, Wagner ended the game with one block. Nothing crazy or too impressive, but very unexpected.

For steals, our prop projections were spot on. We had the prop line at 1.5, and the robot favored the under. I was hoping for more steals, given his season average. But, let’s not be too surprised by the accuracy of our predictions. Indeed, Wagner ended the game with one steal. However, where Wagner lacked in one of the defensive stats, he more than made up for the totality of his game in points and other statistical categories.

Taking a quick look at Wagner’s rebounds tonight, he ended the game with seven solid rebounds. We had the prop line at 5.5 with the robot favoring the under. Sad to say, we missed the mark on that one.

All in all, it was a great night to watch basketball. While Orlando didn’t win tonight vs. Milwaukee, Wagner had a good night, making himself a considerably important player for the Magic. Hopefully, Thursday is a better night for the underdogs when I come back to discuss the 76ers and their fight against the Nets.
