Toronto is coming into this season with higher expectations than they've had in almost decades, and that's for very good reason. Not only are is there team absolutely loaded with dangerous bats, including George Springer, Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr,  but there pitching has definitely improved.

Lets start out by talking about Blue Jay's ace Alek Manoah. While he's only 24 years old, he's already made his mark, posting a 9-2 record, with 127 strikeouts across 111 innings. While past games will be a more helpful metric as we get deeper into the season, lets take a look at what we should be expecting.

Alek Manoah o5.5 K's -120 & Blue Jays F5 +100

As you can see, not only does do the projections have him going over this number,  but a median performance from Manoah results in 6 strikeouts. While I was originally weary of this number, assuming he wouldn't go deep into his first game (52 & 61 pitches in spring), Blue Jays starters have only given them 8 innings pitched so far, meaning that bullpen is absolutely in need of some relief. On the road last season, Manoah averaged 1.24 K/IP as opposed to 1.02 at home, meaning their is no reason to be worried. Not only do the Jay's having the starting pitching advantage, but we also don't have to worry about the Yankees pen with the F5 bet. The Yankees are off to a solid start, but they are still striking out a high % and will be tested in a tough pitching matchup today.
