We continue to grind away in MLB after picking up a slight profit yesterday thanks to the plus money plays.  For today, let’s dig into how well some players bounce back after going hitless in their previous game.  Digging through the matchups today there was one player who stood out for a plus matchup but went 0-4 last night, so let’s take a look at why I’m liking Matt Olson to bounce back tonight.

Overall, this season, Olson has been hitting RHP’s very well with a .268 ISO and a .489 wOBA and has gone over 1.5 total bases in 7 out of 11 games so far:

He matches up with Mark Leiter Jr. tonight, who career wise he is 1 for 3 with a home run against.  When facing LHB’s Leiter likes to throw a lot of sinkers, over 50% of his pitch count.  Olson has had good success against this pitch with a .303 ISO, a .428 wOBA, and a .529 xwOBA, showing he is hitting this pitch really well.  Olson has checked off quite a few boxes, but looking at his performance last night gives some pause.  But when we take a look at the season as a whole, Olson has bounced back well after hitless performances.  Going over 1.5 total bases in 4 out of the 6 games after a hitless performance:

With this play at plus money, I really like the value for Olson to bounce back in a prime matchup.

Bet: Matt Olson o1.5 Total Bases +110 (DK)
