Course Overview/Scoring Guide:
TPC River Highlands is a pretty stock golf course. It is not a long track by any means, it will be playing at 6,852 yards, giving every golfer a chance this weekend, distance will definitely not be the deciding factor here this weekend.
Hitting the fairway off of the tee will be a major key this weekend, as scrambling from the rough ranks inside the top 10 in difficulty almost every year at this venue. Although, hitting fairways shouldn’t be an overly difficult task, as TPC River Highlands has an average fairway width of 38 yards, and that a lot of guys will be swinging fairway finding clubs off the tee looking for accuracy rather than needing the distance.
Approach shots are going to be the key this weekend. Players are going to have a ton of short irons, and wedges into greens this weekend. Players who excel at hitting greens in regulation and proximity to the hole should be able to have some fun this weekend.
But as we all know by now, golf tournaments are won and lost on the greens. TPC River Highlands will again present the challenge of bentgrass greens, but I still think you need to target players who are consistently giving themselves makeable birdie putts
