It's a huge night in sports and all eyes will be on New York where the 2022 NBA Draft is being held. But while all the glitz and glam is happening in Brooklyn, the Bronx will feature a major primetime matchup between the Yankees and Astros. In yesterday's column we went 2 for 2, with a Cedric Mullins off day throwing a wrench into the AI's dream pick. Let's keep the hot streak going with tonight's best bets for a heated AL match up.

Yankees SP Jameson Tallion: Under 5.5 K's (100 Thrive Points)

The Bronx Bombers Jameson Tallion will be on the bump for tonight's game and the Thrive line for strike outs is 5.5. Tallion is averaging 4.7 K's over his last ten starts and is brandishing a 2.7 ERA and an 8-1 record. With such stout stuff and the stats to show, you'd think he'd have more strikeouts than 60 in 13 starts. This is because Yankees manager Aaron Boone has kept him on a short leash with his fragile injury history. He average at just above 5 IP per start and faces a tough Astros team. He only has 3 starts with 6+ strikeouts this season and Houston is only averaging 7 K's per 9 innings, third best in the majors. Tallion will probably have a great start but not enough K's to show for it.

Astros OF Micheal Brantley: Over 1.5 BASEs (115 Thrive Points)

UH OH UNDERDOG ALERT! I am higher than a tightrope on this pick because the former Cleveland Guardian has been electric in Houston. He has at least one hit in 15 of his 16 starts in June and is hitting .381. Over the whole season he is hitting a productive .298 and has extra base hits in four of his last seven games. In six of his last seven, he has 2+ bases  and is averaging 2 in his past ten games. Brantley is hitting .296 against New York since 2019, and is also top five in batting average in June.

Yankees OF Giancarlo Stanton: Under .5 RBI's (90 Thrive Points)

Ole Mikey Stanton is on a bit of a cold streak as of late. Especially when it comes to putting numbers on the scoreboard. That's why Mr.Roboto is loving this pick and is giving it an eighty percent chance of hitting the under. Stanton hasn't got a hit in the past four games and is four for his past thirty four at-bats. He faces Astros SP Framber Valdez who has an away ERA of 1.61 and a win loss of 4-1. He's only given up three earned runs in his past fifteen innings on the road. I project Stanton having a tough time against the Road Warrior.
