Pick 9: Zach Plesac O3.5 K’s (-145 DK) (would not take O4.5 FD)
I’ll start this article off by saying that I know Plesac is coming off of an injury (which is why I think his line is so low), and that could affect his performance today. I think even with the injury, I'm not seeing anything about a pitch count anywhere online, so I think he goes the full 5+ he normally pitches.
The 3 times he went against this Royals squad, he got 3, 5, and 5 K's.
His last 12 games he has a 66.7% hit rate at this line with 3 of the misses coming in at the hook with 3.
Looking at the K% rate of these hitters, I like the chances for Plesac to strike out 4 of these guys, considering he'll theoretically get through the lineup around 2.5 times (assuming not many hits), and be able to target some of the higher K% players at the bottom of the lineup.
