Tonight's matchup faces former league MVP, Giannis against the young and talented Detroit Pistons. Giannis has been fantastic to start the season, averaging 34 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. He has a 20% rebounding rate and a 33.7 percentage assist rate. He continues to dominate in every facet of the game. In 4 games last season, Giannis averaged 9.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists, hitting 17 R/A in 3 of 4 games.
I'm relying on the Pistons to be competitive for awhile in this one, and on Giannis's crazy 36% usage rate. The Pistons just came off a game where they beat the defending champion, Golden State Warriors, by 14 points. They shot 42% from 3, and that is the Achilles heel for this Bucks defense. The Pistons really struggle with what Giannis and the Bucks do well. They are bottom 10 in the NBA in 3 point % allowed, 3 pointers allowed, and offensive rebounds allowed. Lastly, Jalen Duren is out for the Pistons tonight. Already the much smaller team, not sure how the matchups will fall tonight with Lopez in the starting lineup as well, but the Bucks and Giannis should dominate the boards again this evening.
