So...I detest the Tampa Bay Lightning. They knocked out my Stars in the Stanley Cup and I will never forgive them. Tonight they travel to Pittsburgh to play the Penguins. The first game of the season for these two teams was a matchup in TB where the Penguins came out on top with a whopping score of 6-2. The Pens have scored more than 2.5 goals in 4 out of 5 regular season games so far. Meanwhile the Lightning have allowed Over 2.5 goals in 5 of their 6 games played so far. My NHL Spread Model REALLY like PIT to cover +1.5 line and my Moneyline model has a lower probability for TB ML than their implied odds suggest which is another point in favor of PIT scoring goals tonight. The final straw to push me to this pick was my Over/Under model (comparing ALL THREE models help make picks like this). Below are the O/U model predictions for tonight. Assuming these models are accurate and there will be more goals, and PIT will cover, and TB has a less chance to win than odds suggest; all signs point to PIT scoring 3 or more goals tonight.
