Chris Godwin has made a name for himself these past four weeks as a WR2 in Tampa Bay, albeit proving he is of WR1 capability. He has made exceptional plays downfield against his opponents thus far, utilizing Baker Mayfield's accuracy and strength. On top of consistently hitting his marks, he plays exceptionally well on turf. He caught 7 catches on 117 yards against the lions on turf and remains a solid player on grass as well, going 2/3 on his receiving yard lines and getting at least 53 yards a game. The falcons defense makes a name for themselves by stopping the run after catch, but I still see Godwin making himself useful with Evan's usage possibly limited due to his knee issue. With the buccaneer's offense being mainly pass heavy, I see this line being smashed against a Falcons team that has allowed an avg. 88.2 yards to WR1 and WR2 players.
After last nights loss against the Astros the Royals are in desperate need of a win as the fight for division leader wraps up. The guardians are favored against the pirates at home today as well, which could be bad news for the Royals if they take another loss tonight. With Lugo on the mound, who is 14-8 and has a 3.19 ERA, the Royals are geared for success in one of the most important games of the season for them. The value of the F5 ML is possibly the best available bet on the board today, and I can see the royals pulling through after giving up 4 runs due to errors last night to cause their loss.
The Royals face off against the Astros at home tonight who are off an amazing win against the Phillies last night, with Alvarez hitting 3 home runs and the young pitcher taking the Phillies on hitless until the 8th inning while bringing in 11 Ks. With what seems like a game for the Astros to win, the Royals are in desperate need of a win after the guardians topped them again in the fight for the AL Central, winning the 4th game in their h2h series this week.
Muchova is set to take on Osaka in the round of 64 at the US Open in Arthur Ashe stadium today. I’m expecting a great game from both of these hard hitters, who both won their previous games in 2 sets. Muchova has been playing excellent lately, improving her game by taking calculated risks that pay off with more break point opportunities. Osaka is doing the same, but dominating in the service game, hitting 9 aces in her previous bout against Ostapenko, while Muchova only hit 3. Osaka also didn’t double fault once, which is impressive for anyone in this kind of high pressure tournament. Both the Czech and Japanese were extremely aggressive, hitting 24 winners in the round of 128. In this match up, I see a more experienced Muchova fighting to rally against Osaka’s serve and I expect Osaka to give up more games against the higher ranked hard hitter. im taking the O2.5 sets at +105.
Astros ML is the play today. Astros are coming off two loses by the Phillies who are led by a hot handed Bryce Harper who is on a 6 game hit streak. With Spencer Arrighetti on the mound, this should be a spot where the Astros fall, but this is a must win game for the them as they will host the streaking royals in their next series. Arrighetti is averaging a 4.94 ERA and pitching at least 5 innings over his last seven starts (against some of the best teams in the league), so I trust him to get the job done today as the bullpen has been overworked as of late. I can see the over for this game as well, but I trust the Astros to get it done today as they are in a must win spot, despite being 1-4 against opponents away and the Phillies streaking.
With the royals fighting for a spot in the top of their division, this game is the one to win. They are 7-3 of their last 10 games, losing two over the weekend against the Phillies. They play a solid guardians team, but I see a huge rebound for the Royals with Cole Ragans at the mound, pitching a 3.31 ERA and a 3.00 ERA in his last four games. The royals are 31-30 on the road while the guardians are 40-21 at home. However, the guardians are 4-6 of their last 10 with two wins against Texas last weekend. Both teams are in need of a win but I see a big rebound from the royals today as they make the race for the playoffs a little more interesting. Take royals -130 today.
